Summary: Back then, the world still had plenty of exploration and wonder to spare. So when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle proposed that there was a prehistoric landscape somewhere in South America, more than a few were quick to believe him. And that's where the expedition begins.

History: Determined yet eccentric Professor George Edward Challenger has just been given the opportunity to prove the scientific community wrong about him being a little crazy. He's going to lead an expedition to an unexplored plateau located in Venezuela, where he will find a menagerie of prehistoric life forms. However, the previous people who went there left nothing but their bones to collect, so things could get messy with the charming locals.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The ape-man is shot in the chest, the Agathumas and Pteranodon are chomped by the Tyrannosaurus, the Edmontosaurus is killed by an Allosaurus (which gets killed by the Agathumas), and the Brontosaurus gets sent to London to rampage a little before departing via the River Thames. Every other creature just carries on.

Powers/Abilities: Nothing much except strength and some intelligence.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-This is no-man's land, and it wants you to know it. While the herbivores are mostly appropriately docile, the carnivores can get significantly violent. The Ape-man is also pretty creepy with those fangs.

Trivia: -In some parts of South America, the plateaus are referred to as Tepuis, which is the phrase for "House of the Gods" according to the native Pemon people.

-This wasn't the first time master stop-motion artist Willis O' Brian put his talents to use. He had previously worked on animating dinosaurs for the short silent film, "The Ghost of Slumber Mountain".
